Furniture Set-up

Setting up the furniture you have bought from Artemis London is nice and easy. Please read these instructions carefully to ensure a safe product. Your furniture has been made by hand in London and should be treated with care. The solid wood in tandem with the metal legs are heavy once set-up, so please be careful when handling.

Do’s

Check you have all the parts required to set-up the furniture

Check all the parts are sufficiently tightened and inspect regularly

Don’ts

Do not over-tighten fittings, this can cause the screws to bore a hole in the wood

Do not stand on the furniture

Do not use power tool settings that are too strong for the task, if you use a drill the secure screws in place make sure you have the power setting on sufficiently low to prevent over-tightening

Your choice of leg style will determine where the pilot holes will have been drilled on the base of your furniture, your legs attach here and the holes in the metal base plate of your legs will correlate to those on your furniture. Screws are provided with your furniture and you can use these for installation.

STEP 1

Place your furniture upside down on a protected flat surface

Your legs secure into the wood that runs underneath towards the ends of your furniture

Establish the location of the pilot holes

Please note, these pilot holes are not as wide as the screws

Once you have your legs unboxed and your screws ready, you can begin to secure each leg one by one

STEP 2

Place your furniture legs in line with the pilot holes from STEP 1

Secure the legs in place using the screws provided

Ensure the screws are sufficiently tight that the legs are stable and secure

Do this with all the legs on your furniture

STEP 3

With assistance, carefully lift the furniture up and place it in the correct position standing on the legs.

When you do this, be sure not the rest the furniture on its side with pressure on the legs, all legs should contact the floor at the same time

There may be incremental adjustments made on your furniture to ensure that when it is placed on the floor it is perfectly stable, no adjustments to the brace should be made while setting up your furniture

Your furniture is balanced out to within 1-2mm of accuracy

FURNITURE SAFETY

<!> Your Furniture should never be dragged to move it, it should always be lifted as dragging can cause damage to the furniture and the floor

<!> The fixings should be checked periodically to ensure they have not come loose, they should be re-tightened

<!> Adjustments can be made to the wooden brace which the legs are attached to when necessary

<!> Furniture can be dangerous if it is not installed correctly. Assembly should only be carried out by a competent person

<!> For set-up, the furniture should be placed in a suitable space, a safe distance from windows or glass, radiators, other pieces furniture. As a general rule, you should have space to move around the furniture and easily lift it once the legs are installed

<!> Be sure to check all the packaging carefully for the parts and fixtures, they may sometimes come loose during shipment . If any parts are missing, please get in touch to obtain replacement parts. Do not substitute parts

<!> When assembling furniture, it is advisable to not 100% tighten all the fixture until you have all the screws in place around 80%

<!> Do not skip any steps from this set-up guide, check your step is complete before moving onto the next

<!> Small component parts could choke a child if swallowed, please keep children away from the work area while you set-up the furniture

<!> No liability will be accepted for damage or injury caused by incorrectly installed or assembled furniture

<!> The treatment is food-safe

<!> Raw wood can move, be cautious of splinters and components that could cause injury

<!> Your furniture should not be used until it has been assembled and installed according to the instructions

<!> A USEFUL TIP - Keep all the fixtures in a container while you set your furniture up to avoid losing them!
