Dining Table sizing guide
-
Choose your table length (cm).
Length controls how many people can sit down each long side. I allow 40 cm total for leg clearance, so the usable seating run is length −40cm. Full length benches don’t tuck under, but give extra seating capacity.
-
Enter your chair width (45–60 cm).
Seats per long side are calculated as floor((length -40cm) ÷ chair width).
Example: 200 cm length → usable run 160 cm.
With 45cm chairs: = 3 per side.
With 50cm chairs = 3 per side.
With 60cm chairs: = 2 per side.
-
Use it as a realistic guide.
Results are based on comfortable spacing. Benches can feel a touch more flexible for mixed family seating. If you’re unsure, message me—I’ll sanity-check your room and recommend the best size.
